Why does EV tires cost so much? I recently went to get my car inspected and as a part of the inspection they check my tires. I changed to tires less than a year ago and they were already at a 4 with less than 10k miles. These tires cost approximately $400 each! which is almost 3x the cost of regular tires. I know this is not specific to Tesla but I own a 2021 Tesla Model Y and they are even more expensive when purchased directly from the Manufacturer. I feel like this totally negates the savings on fuel cost and maintenance.
